Tips for choosing wedding invitations and stationery
...............................................
Weddings reflect the individual personalities of the bride and groom. It’s an opportunity to create the ultimate party showcasing the couple’s favourite colours, music, food, flowers etc. Every couple wants their wedding to be magical and deciding on a style is one of life’s most exciting decorating tasks!
Your invitation is the opening sequence to your big event - it’s your chance to set the mood for your celebration. Will it be traditional and formal or will you have lots of your own touches in a more casual setting? Or will it be inspired by a stunning piece of vintage lace? Before you go buying every pretty note card in sight, determine your needs by breaking down your wedding day. Use your wedding style, however formal or casual, as well as your budget to guide you through the boundless options. It's helpful to establish a thread of consistency with colour, theme, or motif - and apply it to each piece.
Collect Magazine clippings! Buy all sorts of magazines, interior design, fashion, wedding and compile a scrapbook of decorations, swatches, colour themes and fashion trends. By compiling style samples you can be sure that your choices will stay on track throughout all your important selections. Once a style or colour scheme have been identified it will allow your stationer to interpret your vision and present you with palettes and options. Colour almost always will be the underlying theme that will bring all aspects of the decorative details together. With a style or colour scheme clearly defined in your visuals, your experience in a stationery gallery won’t be as daunting when you are surrounded by hundreds of designs! We can quickly narrow down options by interpreting the look and feel from your swatches and clippings and establish the centerpiece of your wedding stationery - the invitation!
